Here’s why I think you should visit Saadani National Park. People talk about places offering a ‘unique’ safari experience. And while every encounter is unique, Saadani, in eastern Tanzania, really does boast a very unusual, and appealing, combination of attractions. Many of us seek a beach-bush itinerary, and here at Saadani, you have the only big-game wildlife reserve that hugs the East African coast.

The beach comes built in.

“It’s not uncommon for us to see an elephant stroll by the beach, seeking coconuts to eat,” says David Guthrie, owner of Simply Saadani Camp, tucked under the doum palms, metres from the lapping waters of the Indian Ocean.
