Ioan Gruffudd has turned in a mesmerisingly sinister performance as surgeon and serial rapist Andrew Earlham in ITV thriller Liar. But when he calls TV Times from Australia for an exclusive chat, thankfully, he couldn’t be nicer. Viewers have been glued as Andrew duped them for the first three episodes with his fake charm, leaving them unsure as to whether he or teacher Laura Neilson (Joanne Froggatt) was lying about allegations that he raped her. Eventually Andrew’s guilt was revealed and he has gone on to rape pregnant detective Vanessa Harmon (Shelley Conn), but has slyly dodged being caught. Now, as the series draws to an epic conclusion, will he finally get his comeuppance? Here, Ioan reveals all about the final.
