Time for tea

Sipping on a delicious herbal tea is a great way to relax, as well as boost your digestion, improve your skin and help eliminate toxins

Herbal teas are infusions of leaves, roots, flowers, seeds or barks steeped in hot water, so when we drink them we can get all the nutrients and benefits of those plants. And since many plants have medicinal properties, their teas are a great way to calm our nervous systems and relax, soothe our digestive systems, promote sleep and ease cold symptoms.

There is a wide variety of plants that are used as teas, most of which have beneficial effects on our mind and body, but here we focus on some of the main ones that can be easily found and incorporated into our daily lives.

Star anise

This spice infusion is great after meals to promote digestion and to ease digestive discomfort such as bloating, gas and nausea. It can also help expel catarrh and relieve symptoms of congestion, coughing and colds.

Cardamom tea made from dried flowers and seeds is great for aiding the reduction of respiratory infections and coughs since it has really good expectorant properties. Plus, as with other aromatic spices, it can help soothe indigestion, abdominal pain and bloating.
