When it comes to fashion that is ethical and cruelty-free, I think most vegans, (and many nonvegans), have heard of ‘pleather’ (faux leather). Creating pleather has traditionally been an intensive process, and not always the most environmentally friendly one. But times are changing, and there are innovators out there working hard to create leather alternatives that are better for animals and the planet – as well as being chic.
I know this first-hand because Bourgeois Boheme have designed a limited edition pair of 60s-inspired boots, with angel wings on the side, and a large percentage of each sale is donated to my charity, K-9 Angels. Wearing stunning cruelty-free boots and helping dogs in need at the same time - what could be better?
