WORDS BY JULIE BURNS
The DeadShots’ latest album, Wanted, was released on 16 January
Take a tool-maker, a factory worker, a music teacher and a bin man, and what do you get? As they keep being told: a very disparate band that no one would have put together. But from such polar opposites musical alchemy is made. Three years ago, main songsmith, lead guitarist and our interviewee Billy Jenkinson, founded the group while still at school. “After messing about and playing Wipeout over and over, things began to happen,” he says. Three years on, they’ve honed their craft, and got snapped up by Western Star Records. Their first album, Wanted, came out in January. The title’s easily justified – The DeadShots are now in demand on the rocking gig and festival circuit.
