With the homologation of the engine components of the beginning of the year, there was also air filters, which as we know also function as intake silencers. In this regard, Righetti Ridolfi has doubled or split its proposal: on the one hand we have the confirmation of the Nox2 model, on the other the arrival on the market of the new Active. The differences mainly concern the arrangement of the “horns” (from 23 mm for single-speed karts and from 30 mm for the KZ) which can be placed in different positions of the kart and / or also of the driver’s legs, in addition to the connection to the carburetor, shorter in the case of the Active model. Also the attachment to the frame is different, with an agile click system on the most recent filter.
But what other differences can we expect in terms of actual use on the kart? We asked Righetti, who replied: «In practice, we have no real performance differences between the two models. However, we have found a preference towards Nox2 among those who race in OK Junior and, on the contrary, the Active among those who race in ‘normal’ OK. It also seems that in the case of the KZ, the Active is more suitable for fast tracks and the Nox2 for slower circuits, but even here we think that they are more personal issues of the drivers and mechanics. In the end, we saw that they are appreciated in equal measure and the sales numbers are also substantially the same».
