UK car hire service uses remote drivers
Cars are delivered and collected via remote control
CARS THAT CAN be driven by remote control are now on UK roads as part of a new hire car service in Milton Keynes.
Users living within four miles of the city can order a hire car from start-up Fetch, which delivers it using a remote driver operating from the firm’s headquarters, also based in Milton Keynes. Hirers drive the car themselves for the duration of their loan, before it is collected remotely. The remote operators have a full 360-degree view around the car, via cameras.
