EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL BOOKS FESTIVAL

In a world of global uncertainty and shifting influence, this year’s books festival explores the power of the human mind to imagine a better world. Over 800 writers from 55 countries will come together in Charlotte Square Gardens with the aim of inspiring and stimulating debate. Headline speakers include doyenne of historical fiction Philippa Gregory, former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, survival expert Ray Mears, and novelist Jonathan Safran Foer, who’ll be launching his first work of fiction in over a decade. Representing LGBT writers are Simon Callow, Garth Greenwell, Juno Dawson, Carol Ann Duffy and Julian Clary. Discover how each of them thinks we can make the world a better place – and make sure to get your books signed before you leave!
