Brooks’ dedication to runners is paying dividends. Focused entirely on running, the apparel and the shoes have levels of design and technology other brands simply can’t harness. While their tights, tops and bras have revolutionised the running experience, the shoe range has become the first port of call for runners, whether they’re embarking on their first Couch to 5K, or taking on an ultra. Consistently brilliant, and consistent winners of Best in Test in these very pages, Brooks always put runners first. The quality of the shoes is faultless, and the range caters for all of us. Particularly worthy of note in 2021 have been two things: the launch of their high-end Hyperion range, the Elite and the Tempo, that stands proudly shoulder-to-shoulder with the racers from other brands. Then came the latest Adrenaline iteration, the GTS 21. This go-to shoe for road runners just gets better, with the sort of smart cushioning and energy return that makes you forget you’re wearing them. It’s not a surprise so many of you are Brooks superfans: from die-hard Glycerin lovers to speed queens whizzing past in their Levitates, it’s the brand we’re most used to seeing on start lines and the one we hear being recommended the most in running shops.
