Submissions are invited for the Guardian and 4th Estate BAME Short Story Prize, a new writing prize for black, Asian and minority ethnic writers in the UK.
The winner will receive £1,000 and their story will be published on the Guardian website.
The competition is for original, unpublished short stories up to 8,000 words. Writers should not be represented by a literary agent or have a publishing contract. All submissions must be uploaded through the website as pdfs. Entry is free. Writers must fit the eligibility criteria, and may enter only one story.
