The time for Irish writers

Short stories and poetry are published in the culture section of The Irish Times on the last Saturday of the month and all work published here will be eligible for the annual Hennessey Literary Awards.

Open to Irish writers around the world the New Irish Writing section of The Irish Times is edited by Ciaran Carty and submissions should consist of a story of a maximum 2,200 words or up to six poems. The writers of published stories receive €130 and poets €65.
