Infamous five

Following the unexpected success of spoof Ladybird books for adults last year, four new titles taking Enid Blyton’s classic Famous Five into adulthood are to be published by Quercus Books. The new novels, written by Bruno Vincent, will be published for the Christmas market in hardcover on 3 November. The titles are Five Give Up the Booze, Five Go OnA Strategy Away Day, Five Go Gluten Free and Five Go Parenting. The new adventures of Anne, Dick, George, Julian and Timmy the dog (who must be getting on a bit now) are described by the publisher as ‘gentle parody’.
