Patrick Forsyth explores the possibilities of a good rant

Everyone likes a good rant. One of my fellow members at a writing group is always asked before she reads, ‘Is it a rant?’ It’s her speciality. She writes well and everyone present always enjoys them. That said, given the very nature of travel, surely there is no area that provides more opportunities to write a rant. Such can be informative, offer warnings to readers or just engender a pleasant feeling of schadenfreude – I am just glad that didn’t happen to me – and can perhaps sometimes do so in an amusing way.
