The HG Wells Short Story Competition is open for entries for the 2016 contest, which this year has the theme of ‘space’.
There are two categories: under 21s and over 21s. The first prize in the under 21s category is £1,000, and in the over 21s category, £250. The winning and shortlisted stories will be published in an anthology, available in print and Kindle editions.
Stories should be between 1,500 and 5,000 words. Include the title on the manuscript (double spaced with page numbers) but not the author’s name. Entry is free in the under 21s category, and £10 per entry in the over 21s category (£5 for students if accompanied by student ID). Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Pay by BACS or cheques payable to HG Wells Festival.
