Q Several years ago I was about 55,000 words into my novel when I lost my way with it – I couldn’t see how to draw all the threads together, life kind of got in the way, my enthusiasm waned and eventually I ended up just closing the file and forgetting about it. Recently, I’ve had some success with short stories and my writing bug is back with a vengeance so I want to get stuck into something bigger but I’m still rather intimidated by my novel. I don’t want to hit a block and run out of steam again, and when I dipped into it, there were passages I barely remember writing! Should I carry on with it or just shelve it and start something new?
