The Eugenie Summerfield Book Prize is a new prize for children’s writing that has been set up in memory of children’s author Eugenie Summerfield, creator of the Wriggly Worm series, who died last year.
The prize, which is biennial, will be awarded for the first time in 2018, and is for children’s authors who live in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire or Somerset. The prize winner will receive £500.
The prize is for books of fiction for children or young people published in 2016 and 2017. Books may be illustrated or not illustrated, and may be in rhyme (but must not be collections of poetry).
