World OF WEG

The FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) Tryon 2018 took place this fall in North Carolina.

The WEG has been held once every four years since 1990. It hosts the world championships of eight different equestrian sports: dressage, show jumping, eventing, reining, vaulting, para-dressage, endurance, and combined driving. You may have seen some of the competition on TV, or if you were really lucky, maybe you had a chance to travel to see it in person. Here are some of the highlights from the 2018 WEG.

One of the biggest breakout performances of this WEG was that of 18-year-old Cade McCutcheon in the reining arena. Cade’s mom, Mandy, and his dad, Tom, have both competed on WEG reining teams, as has his grandfather, Tim McQuay.
