Adoption is the only option
It is an unfortunate fact that older dogs are less likely to be adopted than their younger counterparts; this may be due to puppies being deemed cuter, the myth that older dogs are harder to teach or it may be attributable to our cultural need to swap old things for the newer model. However, there are a growing number of charities and human companions opting to for care for senior dogs and there are plenty of reasons why adopting an oldie may be a better choice for some.
