Vegans no longer have to miss out when it comes to milk, with many plant-based alternatives that are free from animal cruelty now available. The choices are seemingly endless with options from Alpro, Oatly and Koko to name a few. These substitutes for dairy are becoming so popular that they can be found in supermarkets, coffee shops and independent cafes throughout the country. As sales increase year on year, so do their availability.
Rich, creamy products are currently the target for “veganisation” with Oatly leading the charge via their Creamy Oat Fraiche, Vanilla Custard and Oat Drink Barista Edition. There are however still a number of luscious, milky vegan drinks such as milk shakes and creamy coffees that are still not readily available. Not to mention a large number of alcoholic drinks including Irish coffees and cream liqueurs.
