THORNBURY CASTLE TO STEAM IN SIX YEARS
After languishing in sidings for more than fifty years, Br Western region
‘Castle’ no. 7027 Thornbury Castle has at last found salvation and its new
owner wants to see it in steam in six years’ time. Jon Jones-Pratt, the thirty two year-old vintage transport enthusiast behind the 2012 revival of the Crosville bus company at Weston-super-Mare, has bought the derelict hulk from Pete Waterman, and is assembling a team to restore it for main line
operation.
