It was when the Cochran family moved to Bell Gardens, California, that Eddie discovered that his muse was music. Aged 12, he wanted to join the school orchestra as a drummer but then he was forced to opt for the trombone – he wasn’t allowed to play drums without piano lessons first, which he dismissed.
