Hands up those among you who love old-school rock’n’roll – and welcome to the very first issue of Vintage Rock magazine. We were inspired to assemble this special tribute by the fact that while the music of the late ’60s onwards has been covered in exhaustive depth, publications that focus on the vital and truly life-changing records that shook up an unsuspecting universe back in the ’50s aren’t nearly as thick on the ground. Given the sheer quality of the music and the fascinating stories behind those who made it, not to mention the sheer impact all this had on so many aspects of popular culture, it’s an injustice that needs to be righted.
