Vintage Rock Magazine

(2 Customer Reviews)   |     Write Review 6 issues per year Vintage Rock celebrates a time when music changed the world - 45s, youth culture and the odd thrusting pelvis. Spanning the dawn of the '50s and the seismic release of ‘Rock Around The Clock’ through to the early '60s and right up to the modern rockin' scene, Vintage Rock chronicles all the stellar artists and music, the enduring legacy of those early pioneers - and why it’s still the best way to live. This special magazine rejoices in the music and verve of the greats like Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran Little Richard and a host more, and speaks to a contemporary audience that relishes the vitality and flair of the era.

Vintage Rock  |  Nov/Dec 2019

In this issue of Vintage Rock we reveal our definitive Top 100 Rockabilly Tracks from classics of the genre through to lesser-known gems in the catalogue.

With Halloween upon us, this issue we brush aside the cobwebs to step inside the spooky world of ghoul-rock pioneer Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and David West navigates his way through the zombie-loving ranks of Psychobilly with the help of The Sharks' frontman Alan Wilson and Dutch psychobilly giants Batmobile.

60 years on from it's release, Randy Fox investigates this month's classic album, Bo Diddley's big-selling second offering Go Bo Diddley, we hear from 21st century roots rockers The Delta Bombers who discuss their new material, and David Burke looks into the fascinating story of Hank Ballard, the rhythm and blues mastermind behind The Twist.

Much more inside too, including the Jive Aces' Summertime Swing live, news – including an upcoming Netflix animation with Elvis cast as a spy, and all of the latest music reviewed!

Enjoy the issue!

Superb mag for real music fans Reviewed 30 November 2016
Thought the cover feature on The Beach Boys was really interesting. Went back to the roots of the band rather than just the usual features you see about Pet Sounds and Smile etc that are in other music mags. Brilliant magazine for real music lovers.
Superb features on a wide range of artists Reviewed 30 November 2016
Love this mag!! Features lots of my favourite artists from the 50s and 60s as well as up-to-date acts, too. Covers lots of artists from rock'n'roll, rockabilly, vintage soul and R&B. A great read.
