Vintage Rock Magazine

6 issues per year Write Review Vintage Rock celebrates a time when music changed the world - 45s, youth culture and the odd thrusting pelvis. Spanning the dawn of the '50s and the seismic release of ‘Rock Around The Clock’ through to the early '60s and right up to the modern rockin' scene, Vintage Rock chronicles all the stellar artists and music, the enduring legacy of those early pioneers - and why it’s still the best way to live. This special magazine rejoices in the music and verve of the greats like Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran Little Richard and a host more, and speaks to a contemporary audience that relishes the vitality and flair of the era.

Vintage Rock  |  Jan/Feb 2020

In this issue of Vintage Rock we examine Carl Perkins' post-Sun career, from touring the UK with Chuck Berry to his collaboration with Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis as Class of '55 in the 80s. Plus, we have a listen to the incredible unreleased Perkins tracks recently discovered, all cut before he arrived at Sun and now available to us all.

As the 50s came to a close, the age of the Teen Idols commenced. Inside, we explore those icons from Bobby Vee to Frankie Avalon and deliver our Top 20 teen idol rundown. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of one of the UK's finest rock'n'roll songs – Brand New Cadillac – we retrace the steps of Brit bad boy Vince Taylor and enter his weird and wonderful world.
As soul sensation Jackie Wilson finally receives a much-belated star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, we speak to his son Bobby Brooks Wilson about his father's legacy, we toast rock'n'roll revivalists The Stargazers 40th anniversary in the business, and rockabilly filly Rosie Flores opens up about the comeback that almost was with legendary rockin' gal Janis Martin. Aussie hotshot Pat Capocci also drops by to talk rock'n'roll, barbershops and surfing!
Much more inside including live reviews of the Welsh Rockabilly Fair and Great Yarmouth's Elvis Festival, plus all the fresh news on the scene, and the latest music reviewed.
Enjoy the issue!

Superb mag for real music fans Reviewed 30 November 2016
Thought the cover feature on The Beach Boys was really interesting. Went back to the roots of the band rather than just the usual features you see about Pet Sounds and Smile etc that are in other music mags. Brilliant magazine for real music lovers.
Superb features on a wide range of artists Reviewed 30 November 2016
Love this mag!! Features lots of my favourite artists from the 50s and 60s as well as up-to-date acts, too. Covers lots of artists from rock'n'roll, rockabilly, vintage soul and R&B. A great read.
