Many things happened last months. Here our best 5 –
Max Effect
As happens (too often) in our environment, even the dazzling career of the Dutch driver from karting to Formula 1 has been distorted in a way diametrically opposed to what the facts are.

RACING
5UPREME
5 races between April and June: 5 victories, with success in the 3rd round of the FIA Karting European Championship in Sweden, Lorenzo Travisanutto initiates a “manita” that smacks of poker. And in the championship Patterson is now closer.
Now comes the fun!
With Angerville, Genk and Kristianstad filed away with three different winners in the first three OKJ races, Le Mans will be decisive for assigning the European title the 21 July weekend. Several drivers are expected to confirm their status as likely candidates, much depending on whoever, in fact, wins the European. For starters, Marcus Amand, Thomas Ten Brinke and Tuukka Taponen are the top candidates; they are followed by drivers in search of confirmations and placements especially as regards the World, another event not to be missed..
Abbasse enchants
The first round of the European KZ confirms the equilibrium of the beginning of the year with Anthony Abbasse (Sodikart / Tm) in front of everyone in a weekend strongly influenced by the climate factor. He was followed by Matteo Viganò (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Alex Irlando (BirelArt / Tm): read this way the ranking does not arouse any surprise in relation to the forces in the field seen during this first part of the season, yet the Wackersdorf weekend reserved more than one surprise to the drivers and even a few … unexpected moments.
For a fisful of microseconds
Emil Skaras wins at the photofinish preceding Cunati and Longhi in the first round of the KZ2 European.
De Haan, what a start!
Absolute domination by Robert De Haan in the first round of the FIA Academy Trophy
Double shots!
From May 31 to June 2, the waiting was inally over: The Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy 2019 kicked of its second year.
High tension
The kick-off to the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) took place last weekend at the Prokart Raceland Wackersdorf. In temporarily changing weather, the international field of participants showed thrilling kart racing with close racing decisions. In the end, German Luka Wlömer and Lin Chen Han from Taiwan won.

NOT JUST KARTING
The advent of Formula 4 has had the consequence of lowering the age of the transition to singleseaters or cars. To date, in fact, at the age of 15, drivers already have a wide range of opportunities to compete in cars. This has also had some consequences in karting, whose business model has changed with a propensity for the Mini and Junior classes. Then there are those who, in addition to having intuited this change, have decided to put into practice an extremely ambitious project, which combines karts and single-seaters. We are talking about Danilo Rossi, 5 times world champion in karting, who besides building frames and engines with DR Racing Kart and Modena Engines brands, is also the owner of a team of F4 and Formula Regional.

LEGENDARY KART
Prestigious Esprit
This month the kart undergoing a restoration by the brilliant Glenn Davidson is no less than the Tonykart Esprit with which Jarno Trulli won the Suzuka Champions Cup, one of the events most sought-after by drivers in the 1990s.
LEGEND
DAP Forever
With the legendary DAP karts the best drivers of the 70s and 80s raced and won: from 1979 World Champion Peter Koene to Ayrton Senna, 1979 and 1980 vice world champion, by Vincenzo Sospiri who won the 1987 CIK Overall (World Championship 100) to Alessandro Piccini, 1987 125 FC World Champion. Just to name a few…
