Our drive of a camouflaged prototype suggested BMW’s reborn electric family SUV will be a force to be reckoned with. It offers an official range of around 500 miles, and among the available technology is augmented-reality navigation, projected onto the windscreen. The prototype was pretty enjoyable to drive, too.

Peugeot e-208 GTi
For hot hatch fans, the ‘GTi’ initials stand for ‘good times imminent’, and this is their first time on an electric Peugeot. All the ingredients for fun are there; with 276bhp on tap, 0-62mph reportedly takes 5.7sec, and response should be instant. The GTi’s handling shouldn’t let the side down, either; it sits 30mm lower than the regular e-208 on bespoke suspension, with tweaks to the steering and brakes said to bring more feel.
