The first time I met Najam Sethi was in March 2022, at a dinner party in Lahore. By way of introduction, Sethi took a long sip of his drink, chuckled and told his audience that he was taking an evening off from bringing down Imran Khan’s government.
There’s a warmth to Sethi which belies his seriousness. He’s quick to laugh and, when he does, he does so deeply and with ease. Two days after our meeting, a vote of no confidence removed Khan from power.
