CAROL AND MARK'S JOY
For Carol McGiffin and fiancé Mark Cassidy, the upcoming festive season is something to savour. Since Carol’s breast cancer diagnosis in April 2014, the couple have kept a low profile staying with friends in Kent and at home in London while Carol recovered from gruelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Now the pair are looking forward to a romantic break in the run-up to Christmas and spending part of the holiday in sunnier climes. After a holiday earlier this year, which Carol says in hindsight she wasn’t well enough to appreciate, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy each other’s company before preparations for next year’s wedding start in earnest.
