A daily yoga practice doesn’t have to be faffy or performative. Keep it simple and get to know your body in different ways
1Lengthen your exhale
Lengthening your exhale has a profound calming effect on your nervous system, helping you to slow your heart rate and relax.
• Sit comfortably.
• Take a deep breath in… a slow breath out…
• Continue to deepen your breathing.
• Inhale as you count 1-2-3-4.
• Exhale as you count 1-2-3-4-5-6.
• Breathe in for 4.
• And out for 6.
• Keep slowing it down, and see if you can lengthen your exhale to 8 counts or more.
