Running mates
Because we run better together
This month, we talk about how to (politely) get pedestrians out of the way, and hear from inspirational women runners who are making waves in very different ways

THE BIG QUESTIONS
The running topics we’ve been talking about this month
Running etiquette: do you shout out when you’re behind people on the pavement? What do you say?
@MichelleWyllie I usually just slow to walking pace when I see people hogging the pavement.
@GeorgiaNichols I generally go with ‘on your right’ pretty early and watch the startled reaction while they try and work out which is left and right.
@Brittney Vietti Usually my heavy breathing gives away that I’m approaching before I need to say anything. I’m also slow enough that they will see my shadow way before I catch up to it!
@HannahBroom I wear a headtorch so people usually see me coming, otherwise I will just say ‘Is it ok if I pass on the left?’
