Shorts for Seán

Entries are being accepted for the Seán Ó Faoláin International Short Story Prize 2017, an annual international competition held by Munster Literature Centre.

The competition is for original, unpublished and unbroadcast short stories up to 3,000 words. The first prize is €2,000, publication in Southword literary journal and a week-long writing residency at Anam Cara Retreat worth €700. If the winner goes to the Cork International Short Story Competition (13-16 September) to collect their prize and read their story, they will be provided with hotel accommodation, food and drink. Four shortlisted entries will be selected for publication in Southword and their writers will be paid €120. This year’s judge is Paul McVeigh.
