A QUINTILLA is a Spanish verse form that can stand alone or be used as a stanza pattern in a longer poem. It has five lines of eight syllables each, usually written in iambic tetrameter. There are various different patterns of the two rhyming sounds in the stanza, but it does not end with a rhyming couplet. So a a b a b, a a b b a, a b a a b, a b a b a and a b b a b may be used.
