Monstrous Outlines is an anthology of horror and weird fiction to be published next year by Canada’s Martian Migraine Press. The anthology theme is camouflage: people, entities, monsters, gods, even concepts, that masquerade as things other than themselves. Think of predators in plain sight, duplicates, doppelgangers, and shapeshifters. Touchstones for the anthology are Algernon Blackwood’s classic short story, The Willows, and John W Campbell’s Who Goes There, which formed the basis for all three films titled The Thing.
Deadline is 31 November, for trade paperback and electronic publication in early March 2019. Stories should be 1,500-7,000 words. For longer works enquire first. Flash fiction is acceptable, but no poetry or non-fiction.
