NOTES FROM THE MARGIN
Ihave been touch typing for most of my writing life, having decided early on that one-finger pecking of keys was not going to help me in my chosen career. Once I’d got the hang of it, my fingers whizzing over the keyboard seemed as natural as breathing. I didn’t need to think about the act of typing. I only had to concentrate on what I wanted to say and the best way to phrase it.
