Publishing is a business beset by meetings. A senior editor friend of mine can have as many as thirty meetings in a single week. And these meetings can be interminable – a cynical colleague of mine was fond of saying, ‘It’s a publishing meeting; it doesn’t end until everybody is unhappy.’ But then I am sure that is a feeling shared by people in many different industries.
