Horror is an old genre with a venerable history, and can hark back to a wide range of classic authors taking in Stoker, Poe, Lovecraft, Machen, MR James and many more besides. However, as with every genre, it has grown and updated over time and brought us even more great talents such as Stephen King, Clive Barker, James Herbert and Adam Nevill. With all that said, given the rapid technological advances of recent times it could be argued that horror is more in need of an update than ever.
