Writing Out of the HD Shadow is a national writing competition run by Scottish Huntingdon’s Association, backed by the Scottish Association of Writers.
The competition is for flash fiction or drabbles of no more than 150 words that tell the story of Huntingdon’s disease and how it impacts on the lives of the people that live with it.
There are two categories, for ages over and under sixteen. In the adult category, the prizes are £500, £300 and £100. In the children’s category, the prizes are £100, £50 and £20. Each winner will also receive a framed copy of their story signed by Alan Bisset and Michael Malone, the two authors who are backing the competition.
