The Aesthetica Creative Writing Award is open for entries until the end of August.
The annual competition run by Aesthetica art and culture magazine is now in its tenth year. Each year, sixty shortlisted writers in its two categories, poetry and short fiction, are published in The Aesthetica Creative Writing Anthology, and the winner in each category receives £500. Winners also receive a selection of books from Vintage and Bloodaxe, a year’s print subscription to Granta and either full membership of The Poetry Society (poetry winner) or a consultation with Redhammer Management (short fiction winner).
Poetry entries should be no longer than forty lines, and short fiction not more than 2,000 words. Works that have been previously published elsewhere may be entered (include information on previous publication with your submission). The writer’s name must not appear on the manuscript.
