Scottish Book Trust is inviting applications for Mentoring 2017. In 2017 four published writers will be offered professional development support devoted to developing a particular project with an experienced author. This year’s programme invites applications from writers who are interested in developing their skills working in professional settings. Applications are also invited from performance poets and other spoken-word artists.
To apply, writers and poets must live and work in Scotland and meet the criteria for the Live Literature Database. Applicants should have a specific project in mind for which they would like development support, and at least two-thirds of the material should be completed to give the mentor something to work with immediately. Self-published writers may apply if they have sold 300 print copies or 500 ebooks within a twelve-month period and can demonstrate a career as a professional writer.
To apply, send a completed application form (available from the website) by the closing date of 26 October.
