Air-Style VW Magazine  |  Summer 2024
A warm welcome to Issue 14 of Air-Style Magazine
Summer is finally here in the UK and we hope you are enjoying getting out and about with the show season in full swing. This issue is once again packed with an amazing selection of vehicles and their owners.
Our cover vehicle is Steve Sales’s fantastic T25. Air-cooled versions of these are thin on the ground these days, so grab the opportunity for a closer inspection.
Read about how Stephen Moul, having laid eyes upon a ’56 Oval Ragtop, set about driving his new purchase 500 miles to get it home. Indeed, this car was no stranger to long journeys as you’ll see.
Air-Style’s resident Bus expert David Eccles has a ‘Blue Light Special’ looking at the rare beast that is the T1 Ambulance. Also on the historical theme, Richard Copping takes us from 1957 to 1967 in his regular Brochure Line series.
By now you’ll know that we have a soft spot for a Baja here at Air-Style, and our own Great Baja Build was finally completed earlier this year, with the car being selected as one of the show cars at this year’s VolksWorld Show in March. Read all about our journey. And if that floats your boat, check out Johannes ‘Jo” Klug and his Baja. He has quite a story to tell.
If you are looking for something a little bit different, look no further than David Bousset’s awesome Super Bugger – well worth a look.
Simon Decru’s Squareback really is a thing of beauty. Read how his pride and joy is much more than a car to him.
With the Manx Buggy celebrating its 60th anniversary this year we have the perfect Buggy fix for you on with Ruben Martens’ stunning ’68 Meyers Manx.
We have another great round up of life in the low lane from UTA, and our ‘On the Ground’ feature this issue is the Essex based SX Dub Club. We have reports from Stanford Hall and Run to the Sun, plus much more in the pages ahead.

Like many great origin stories - the idea of Air-Style VW Magazine was conceived in a pub. Four like-minded friends knew that they weren't alone in their love for all things Volkswagen. They felt there was a gap in the market for the many that shared their passion, and believed that they could provide a service that speaks to the people in love with the cars, vans, music and lifestyle that makes the VW fandom so unique. Throughout the various pub meetings that followed, the premise grew from a concept into a fully functioning business plan. Their mission was simple… to provide VW enthusiasts with a dedicated publication in which they can learn more about their beloved brand, and share their experiences with other VW devotees.
Fast forward to today, and Air-Style VW Magazine has surpassed expectations. Proud to pair their own passion with fellow VW enthusiasts - Air-Style VW’s success has stemmed from the creators being genuine fans of the brand. Each issue is packed with a combination of car based content and real life stories that educate, inform, and inspire.
