The Flaming Lips’ 10th studio album,2002’s Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, is regularly seen as their masterpiece, so it’s no wonder that the experimental rock troupe pull out all the stops recreating it live at the Fillmore tonight. Combined with equally captivating renditions of a dozen other tracks – as well as elaborate imagery and pleasant banter from frontman Wayne Coyne – it’s a rivetingly lifeaffirming show that demonstrates why The Flaming Lips are among today’s greatest live acts, both inside and outside the prog scene.
