Armada Table sails to €360,000 result

The Armada Table sold for €360,000 (£316,800) at Adam’s.

A table created from wood and sculptural elements from a Spanish Armada galleon shipwrecked off Ireland’s west coast 430 years ago has sold for €360,000/£316,800 (plus 20% buyer’s premium + VAT) at auction house Adam’s on October 15.

The Armada Table, as it is known, is one of the best documented pieces of 16th century furniture in Ireland. It was estimated at €100,000-200,000.
