On numerous occasions in the early part of the 20th century, the French artist Armand Guillaumin visited the picturesque medieval seaside village of Le Brusc, between Marseille and Toulon.
He was following in the footsteps of his famous colleagues Pierre- Auguste Renoir, Eugène Boudin and Paul Signac, all of whom were inspired by the Mediterranean landscape and captivated by the light.
