THE CREW at Inveraray Fire Station are in the middle of one of the busiest times they can remember, with the team of retained firefighters on more than 30 call-outs since September 1.
The Inveraray team are often called out as second vehicle to support their colleagues at Oban Fire Station. Often they are ordered to mobilise to attend automatic fire alarms and once on the way are given an order to stand THE SCOTTISH Fire and Rescue Service Chief Officer Alasdair Hay visited the crew in Lochgilphead last week.
The CO was given a guided tour of the station by watch manager Duncan Litster who discussed the level of local community engagement carried out by his crew. CO Hay was delivering his vision for the future for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and how that will benefit local retained firefighters and the communities they down and return to station.
