The Arran Women Against State Pension Inequality group (WASPI) are appealing for more people to sign their petition for a debate in parliament on state pensions.
The petition will be available at the second WASPI meeting on the island which will be held at the Ormidale Pavilion on Wednesday November 15 from 6.30pm to 8pm.
The newly formed Arran group has joined women across the country fighting for fair transition for 1950s born women who will lose on average around £40,000 in state pension. The campaigning group is apolitical and is gaining support from all of the major political parties including Labour’s Grahame Morris MP, who raised the WASPI petition to get a second debate at Westminster.
