To facilitate fourwheel drive, AMG has moved from a transaxle in the current GT to a more traditional arrangement for the SL and forthcoming Mk2 GT. We can’t help wondering if moving that weight forward has neutered the playfulness of the chassis a little.
The fabric roofs on both cars go up and down easily enough and on the move. Both cars also offer decent protection from wind buffeting, although the SL’s deflector has to be put in place manually, which feels a bit incongruous on such an expensive car.
