JLR BOSSES ARE confident that “extraordinary interest” in the upcoming Range Rover Electric means it can comply with the UK’s zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate without buying credits or restricting ICE car sales.
The strict rules require all major manufacturers to achieve a certain percentage of electric car sales (22% in 2024, 28% in 2025 and so on) or face a £15,000 fine per non-compliant car.
Currently just 1.24% of JLR’s global sales are electric, and all of them from the Jaguar I-Pace, which is due to be retired by 2025.
