MERC VERSES FERRARI: WHO'S REALLY THE FASTEST?
The 2016 formula 1 season got under way last week with four days of testing at Barcelona, half of the total running that the teams and drivers will have prior to the first race in Australia on March 20. Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time for Ferrari with a lap on the new ultra-soft Pirellis, but Mercedes kept a low profile with a marathon mileage on slower medium-compound Pirelli rubber that underlined its status as pre-season favourite. There was also the appearance of a new team in Haas-Ferrari and more struggles from McLaren-Honda.
