It’s our favourite time of the year, when the London Bass Guitar Show is almost upon us. There’s no other show quite as essential for the UK bass player as the LBGS, held as always at London’s Olympia venue, and this time we can safely say with (almost) no fear of being called arrogant that we’ve outdone ourselves with the line-up of artists. For starters, how about the godfather of electric rock bass, Jack Bruce? Then there’s Duran Duran's John Taylor, jazz legend Jeff Berlin, heavy metal hero Frank Bello of Anthrax, Jamiroquai's Paul Turner, heavy rock’s iconic Roger Glover of the perennial Deep Purple, and prog-rock duo Twinscapes, featuring Lorenzo Feliciati and Porcupine Tree bassist Colin Edwin. Add to that soul/funk supremo Armand Sabal-Lecco, rock legend Mo Foster, experimentalist Steve Lawson and the session bassist to end all session bassists, Lee Sklar, and you’ve got a collection of bass talent that has literally never been seen before. A planetload of gear manufacturers will be showing us their latest basses, amps, effects and accessories too. Be there or miss out on the experience of a lifetime.
In this magazine we’ve stretched the pages to fit in more bass goodness than ever before, too. Bob Daisley, Carmine Rojas and Ozzy’s bassist Blasko are legends in their own right, and we’ve added Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and Dougie Poynter of McFly to this mix to make this a magazine for everyone. And did we mention Dweezil Zappa? Our gear reviews section stretches from the classic – Gibson – to the brand new – Alpher – and as always our tuition section covers all the bases. Literally.
That’s enough hot air from us. Come to the LBGS for evidence that when it comes to bass, we always put our money where our mouths are. Info and tickets can be had from www.londonbassguitarshow.com. See you at Olympia: it’s going to be epic!

Really interesting

Lots of interesting articles Révision 25 avril 2022

Bass Player UK

I'm writing from Colombia. I really enjoy the magazine. Thanks guys. Révision 20 décembre 2020

Always a good read

Really entertaining view of guitar Révision 11 juillet 2019

Preferred the old reader

Although the new version has a few extra goodies like a side menu with all articles and a nicer layout, the zoom isn't as good as the old reader. With my phone horizontal the maximum zoom still has tiny lettering. It would be no good to someone who is short sighted. Révision 24 novembre 2012
