Scotland extends self build fund
An extra £2m has been allocated to the Self Build Loan Fund, on top of the £4m already set aside for 28 bespoke home projects across Scotland. Established in 2018, the fund supports self builders who are unable to access standard mortgages, removing a common obstacle. Scottish housing secretary Shona Robison said: “We want to see more opportunities for self-provided housing, with increased capacity to deliver them so that it becomes a mainstream option for increasing housing choice, affordability and supply.”
