The Right to Build Taskforce has released new data revealing that self builds are both more sustainable (with up to 42% lower energy consumption) than the average new build and offer greater benefits to the local area, in terms of spending on materials and labour. This is the first data-based evidence that confirms what the NaCSBA have known for some time. There is hope this report will be beneficial for encouraging more councils and planners to get behind self build applications at the local level.
